Search is one of the four mission types in The Blackout Club (game).

Mission Briefing[edit | edit source]

It's time to actually solve a mystery together, or... at least snoop around and say "Aha!". We have club members missing, crime scenes CHORUS is trying to scrub away, and sleepers acting out some kind of weird code. Evidence is everywhere, we just gotta find it!

Description[edit | edit source]

Search missions require the players to investigate and look for items, evidence, other kids, and free those who have been captured.

Potential Mission Objectives[edit | edit source]

When completing a Steal mission, there are 5 possible objectives. Players may be asked to complete any of the follow objectives - the number of objectives that need to be completed is determined in part by the host's level. Some objectives must be completed sequentially due to the nature of the objective; the "Next Objective" describes what objective may follow.

Bag Up the Dead Bird[edit | edit source]

Bonus: Get Kitchen Cleaner
Bonus: Clean Blood

Description: I feel sick. He/She cut up the poor thing there, then ran off letting it bleed. The Voice in her head is messed up, leaving dead stuff as threats?? I know him/her, he/she loves animals! God. I know it sounds wrong as hell... but please bag up the body (and wipe up blood, if you can).

Find Club Member's Phone[edit | edit source]

Description: Retrieve stolen phone. A club member who wishes to remain nameless (but tbh we all know) lost their phone underground. We believe it's hidden in one of those supply chests. You should be able to pick the lock without much problem... if you can find it. Those supply chests are all over the place.

Description: Search the maze for the missing teen.

Next Objective: Random

Objective Item(s):

The missing person is a dead teenager found somewhere in the Maze. Unlike the tied up victim, the missing person is dead, not alive and tied up. The missing person will have the TV-static overlay on them - players need to record the Missing Person to complete the objective.

Find Missing Person (Higher Level)[edit | edit source]

Description: Find and follow the trail. Record any evidence. Our friend is missing! We need to find the scene of the disappearance, record any evidence, and follow the trail to wherever they were taken. Just hope we're in time! Free them if so, record the crime if not...

Next Objective: Random

Objective Item(s):

Name Icon In-Game Description/Use
Trail Start
MissionPerson TrailStart Icon.png

The start of the trail Club Members must follow to locate the missing person. Close your eyes to see the start of the trail near the location of the icon.
Missing Person
(status unknown until located)
Missingperson.png
The missing person is a friend of the Blackout Club and is somewhere in the Maze. The status of the missing person is not known - they could be dead or alive when the club rescues them. If found to be alive, a club member will have to free them like in the Untie Victims objective. If found to be dead, a club member will have to record evidence of their body like in the low-level Find Missing Person objective. After freeing or recording the missing person, the objective is complete.

Hide Evidence[edit | edit source]

Bonus: Get Kitchen Cleaner
Bonus: Clean Blood

Description: Our friend had a really bad blackout episode, woke up covered in blood and feathers. He/She went on some kind of... rampage. We can't let CHORUS find out it was him/her. Please get rid of the most obvious evidence. Blood, too, if you can!

Next Objective: Bag Up the Dead Bird

Mission evidence will be various objects with the TV-static overlay. These items can be lit by yellow lights and have a red, dashed-box on the wall or floor nearby, or can be damaged furniture with spots of blood nearby. Mission evidence usually is located inside the house but may also exist just outside the house as well. Mission evidence items can include:
  • Broken sink
  • Broken table (pictured)
  • Kicked-in Door
  • Ladder and supplies (pictured)
  • Concrete mixer and supplies
  • Drill and supplies
  • Couch flipped on its back (pictured)

Untie Victims[edit | edit source]

The tied up victim can be found somewhere in the Maze. Unlike the missing person, the tied-up victim is alive but will not have their hands tied behind their back. It takes approximately 5 seconds to untie the victim. Once untied, the victim will sit up and instruct the player to go on.
