The Blackout Club Wiki:Admin noticeboard

From The Blackout Club Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

  • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
  • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
  • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
  • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
  • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Current Issues[edit source]

Addition of the Projects page into the Community Portal[edit source]

I'd like to ask that The Blackout Club Wiki:Projects page be added to the The Blackout Club Wiki:Community portal. It may possibly be wise to add an additional link on the Front Page, alongside the community portal and admin noticeboard.

Hopefully, doing so will trigger some visitors to start projects, particularly translation projects. --Kizzycocoa(talk) 01:43, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Added to the Community Portal. Right now it is linked under the "Not sure where to start?" section, but I will see about getting a DPL set up at the bottom to automatically list new projects. I've also gone and added a link to the Projects page to the sidebar as well. I'll see about including it on the front page; I'm currently considering a redesign of that link section, but I'll consider including it regardless if things changes or not. WIP template seemingly locks the current page[edit source]

It appears that the WIP template, at least visually, locks pages to admins only. I have not tested if it does so proper, so to not lock myself out of my own page. But an alternative method to display the lock should be edited into the template. I would recommend the use of {{PROTECTIONLEVEL:edit}} to gain the correct protection level of the page. Better yet, editing the stylesheet for protected pages, or perhaps a protected template in of itself, which could also add protected pages to their own category. --Kizzycocoa(talk) 03:10, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

I see, yeah, that is a mistake on my end on trying to be efficient and not thinking that template would be used by anyone else. Should be fixed now. MrMusicMan789 ( T  •  C ) 03:09, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
