The New Kid is the playable character in The Blackout Club (game).

Being the player character, the New Kid has a very vague base personality, though they seem to have quite the appetite from both Gwen's dialogue and the fact that they were snacking during their portion of the Prologue. They seemed to have been close with Bells, as when they take down an enemy, they will sometimes claim that it was for her. The game refers to the player as Bells' best friend.
When running missions, the New Kid will express a number of vocal reactions that range from nervous, determined, playful, exasperated, and serious.[1] They often make sarcastic quips in regards to items and locations around Redacre, as well as when entering The Maze. When being revived after being Suppressed, they are quick to offer thanks, and react with audible distress and sometimes anger upon finding a dead teammate or missing persons. They don't hesitate to use colorful language to describe Stalkers and other enemies, and will often taunt enemies when distracting them or taking them down.
The New Kid's appearance is fully customizable via the Wardrobe available in the Hideout. Their default customizable appearance is a Pulled Back / Short Parted hairstyle, Hoodie Gray, Jeans Navy Blue, and Canvas Loafer Gray. Their body type, eye color, and voice is dependent on player choices and will remain fixed until the player sacrifices themselves.

Early Life[ | ]
Sometime before the start of the game, the New Kid started experiencing strange blackouts. After bonding with many other kids going through the same ordeal, the joined The Blackout Club. During this time, they became good friends with Bells.
In-Game[ | ]
In the Hideout, the New Kid can be seen snacking while watching footage of an underwater crab on their laptop. Nearby, Gwen and Dax discuss Bells' disappearance and fate. Gwen tells the player to start going on missions while they get more snacks, teasing them with the idea that that if they all died, they could blame it on the New Kid. Since then, they have continued to work during the cover of night as TBC members.

- The character's 'name' by default will be that of the player's username on their platform. In the subtitles, dialogue spoken by the player's character is referred to as "New Kid".
- The New Kid shares the same voice actors as the player Stalker and the Whisper Twins.
